The story behind the title probably represents the funniest part of the writing process of the book. Indeed, all of sudden, by pure chance, a strange web page suddenly popped up: it was meant to explain five "Types of Jihad". The language seemed to be unusual, but the teaching was perfectly understandable. More importantly, it was crystal clear that there would be no more worries about the title!
The title of the book, Jihad Al-Kuffar, was chosen when the author, by pure chance, came across a brief comment about the meaning of the words jihad al-kuffar.
While the manuscript was going through the publication process, this comment could be found on a website, which is cited in the first pages of the book and continued to be available for a few years.
In actual fact, at those times, browsing through the Internet, it was easy to discover that the same text (together with further information on the concept of jihad) had also been published on other websites.
Nowadays, however, it has apparently disappeared.
No problem!
Obviously, we saved web pages where jihad al-kuffar was defined exactly as reported in the book. Hence, there was no trouble in making a screenshot and you can comfortably read the text by yourself in the image we have pasted right here.
Incidentally, at the bottom of the same web page, there were interesting remarks, as shown in the figure below.
They perfectly fit in this context: sure enough, the main character of the book, an unnamed al Qaeda fighter, was inspired by teachings like the powerful lesson, which is documented here, about the concept of jihad al-kuffar.
According to the story in the fiction book, he certainly made every possible effort to hold "both the external and the internal enemy at bay"... eagerly and enthusiastically, till his death!
